Large Hugh Wallis Arts & Crafts Oval Copper Tray
A large Hugh Wallis oval copper tray, dating to circa 1920-40, with inlaid pewter pattern of grapes and leaves to the centre and a chevron border. Hugh Wallis had a workshop in Altringham, Cheshire, from 1900-1940 and produced copper worked with pewter inlays, predominantly floral studies. Retaining its original oxidised finish, lacquer and applied pewter this is a good example of his work, and looks great! In reasonably good condition, commensurate with age, there are a few markings to the lacquer finish and it is slightly raised to one side but but overall it displays very well. One of a collection of Hugh Wallis pieces I am currently listing. It measures 50cm wide and 33cm deep. The price includes UK postage.
